Collection: Fever

A fever is a temporary increase in your body temperature, often due to an illness. It is a sign that your body's immune system is activated to fight off infection or disease.

While "normal" body temperature is traditionally 98.6°F (37°C), it can vary slightly based on activity, age, and the time of day.

Common Causes
Fevers are typically triggered by:

  • Infections: Viral (like the flu or COVID-19) or bacterial (such as strep throat or UTIs).
  • Inflammatory Conditions: Rheumatoid arthritis or lupus.
  • Immunizations: Common after-effects of some childhood or adult vaccines.
  • Medications: Side effects of certain antibiotics or blood pressure drugs.
